Nálunk felé a cigányok (leányok) úgy élnek	Around here, what the girls do
Boltba mennek kender tubákot, vesznek	Is to go shopping for hemp snuff.
/: Béteszik az ügyes legény zsebébe	They put it in the pockets of clever lads.
Úgy csalják ki a szerelmet belőle. :/	That's how they bring out their lovers.

We think they are meant only to suggest the dialect that the song uses.

Sárga csizsma ződ kalap a fejibe	The yellow boots & green hat on his head
Nem illik a sétabot a kezébe	Don't go with the walking-stick in his hand

I hear csizsma and ződ, but translated them as if they had been csizma and zöld.
